CREATE YOUR CUSTOM JOURNAL COVER

BIFOLD OR TRIFOLD

Bifold and trifold options are available.

If you are unfamiliar, the trifold option includes an extra long flap on the right side. This allows the leather to wrap around your inserts, helping to contain and protect them.

ITALIAN VACHETTA LEATHER

Luxury full grain leather, vegetable tanned cowhide from Italy. Will age beautifully over time, durable enough to be with you for the rest of your life. Sturdy & structured, polished appearance. Edges will be shiny & smooth.

ELASTIC OPTIONS

Strong 2mm elastics, will hold your cover securely closed. You can choose a different color for the inside & out.

DOUBLE OR SINGLE CLOSURE

You can choose a single or double closure elastic, and you may select two different colors if you prefer.

A double closure is not necessary, as I use strong elastics, so it is purely an aesthetic choice.

The exception is silver and gold elastics, which are thinner than the standard options and are always done as a double closure.

NOTEBOOK CAPACITY

You can request 4 or 6 internal elastics.

The trifold option automatically includes an extra long flap, allowing for thick stacks of notebooks regardless of how many internal elastics you choose.

Additional inserts can always be added at home using simple jump bands.

Forest Nine covers are compatible with all brands of inserts in the corresponding size.

CHARM PLACEMENT

Charms are sold separately & can be found linked at the bottom of this page. I will attach the charms for you, just let me know where you would like each one. You can also request that I choose the placement for you.

IMAGE EMBOSSING

Any custom stamp you see me post about (excluding customer logos & private requests) can be added to any cover. Just let me know which option and where.

All standard stamps that I already have are complimentary.

Custom images and logos can be done, but this requires extra time & fees.

GROMMET OPTIONS

The metal around the holes can be done in gold or silver tone. Durable coating, professionally set with the correct uniform pressure. Matte black grommets are available occasionally as well.

Grommets are not needed for strength, they are for aesthetics only and can be omitted if you prefer the look without them.

EMBOSSING PLACEMENT

Embossing can be placed in a variety of locations. I use traditional metal stamps with heat and pressure to create a deep, permanent imprint. I do not offer foil embossing, as it does not meet my quality standards and limits the depth and durability of the impression.

POCKET OPTIONS

You can choose from these options, combing as many as you need - or you can let me know your own pocket ideas.

All stitching is done by hand using traditional saddle stitch, no machines. This ensures a durable & beautiful stitch that lasts.

These will have added fees.

INSERTS

Inserts are sold separately.

Each insert is hand sewn & uses thick fountain pen friendly paper. It is smooth, white & archival quality.

Each inserts has 48 pages and is embossed with the Forest Nine logo on the back. I can custom emboss your inserts in gold, silver or black foil on request.
