Forest Nine was made to hold the days you want to remember, the people you love, the goals you're still trying for, the endless to do lists, the plans that give you hope, the goodbyes you don't know where else to put, and the pieces of yourself you keep trying to find again, and again.

To me, a journal is not just paper. It is a quiet place to think, write things down, and keep the parts of your life you don't want to lose.

Forest Nine began in 2012 in a quiet forest with my dog, Ginger, and my journal. I used to go there to think, plan, and figure out what I wanted my life to be.

My first journals were made from scrap wood in my father’s garage, old cracker boxes, and leather jackets from secondhand shops.

Since then, I have spent fourteen years making, using, testing, and refining journals for the pages people actually keep.

I have used journals to build a life I wanted, figure out what mattered, decide what did not anymore, and come back to myself.

A Forest Nine journal is a private archive.
